WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY

We all face times when life is really hard. We work together to understand what is causing you discomfort and distress. These experiences in the present often reflect patterns from the past. Our bodies, emotions and behaviour are inter-related. Together we will explore this relatedness so that you can resolve and move on from what is no longer serving you. I offer a safe, confidential space as the basis for learning self-awareness that results in change.

WHAT DO I OFFER?

Common issues I work with include: depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship problems, eating disorders, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement, bullying, stress, sexual dysfunction, fears and phobias. I also work with issues relating to loss of meaning and identity during life stage transitions. I take an anti-discriminatory LGBTQIA+ affirmative stance, and I am open to difference in all its forms.

I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist with the UKCP. I am completing additional training as a HCPC Counselling Psychologist and I am a member of the British Psychological Society. For the past 10 years I have worked for the NHS, in community mental health teams and more recently as a psychological therapist. I have worked as an honorary psychotherapist for the NHS, for St Joseph’s Hospice, Hackney and in the voluntary sector in Brighton and Hove.

I hold full professional indemnity insurance.

I am working towards completion of a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University.
I hold Professional Civil Liability Insurance and abide by the following codes of ethics: Metanoia Institute, British Psychological Society, United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
